Do you believe in God?

Postby Jazz singer » 12 Feb 2009, 05:05

Nope, I don't !

I was raised in a religious family, but became rationalist when I grew up and I have never seen the need to believe in God.

So, my postion is not one of ignorance or family tradition.

I am tolerant of other people's beliefs, as long as they don't try to convince me!

I belive in a life after death, aftertime. I don't think the death is the end, and nothing begins. So there is somebody in charge - God :)

I don't believe in any of that stuff, not sure if I want to elaborate too deeply - maybe later :D

Even though I find religion nonsense, I don't mean that in a disrespectful way and I feel everyone should be able to believe what they want and have no problems in general :) -- in fact, with a lot of people religion and believing makes them a better or a stronger person - in those cases you have to respect it :)

That's very simple. The moment life ends. You stop breathing because your heart (and brains) stop and it's over.

Or, by definition - Death is the permanent termination of the biological functions that define a living organism.

I did not ask for that why people die where do they go after death what happens, If there is no power as God or some strength like that why can;t we humans control death?

for me nothing happens. It's like when you sleep - are you fully aware of what happens when you are asleep? That's to me what happens when/after you die. It's not exactly sleeping, it's not exactly comatose - but there's just nothing left that works anymore. Then your body decomposes (along with the brain = mind) until only bones are left.

If we could control death, maybe we'd be "God"

is that to me?

no, I don't. Not at all.

To me "God" is a figment of our imagination, a logic ot accept such things like our fears and the things that we cannot explain.

To play Devil's Advocate in this one though... no, I can't prove it - no one can - or we wouldn't be having this debate ;-) To be honest, I don't think it will ever be solved.
