Trying to define non-formal seasons for my home, North-West Russia. 60N, 30E.
Summer: mid-June to mid-August. Greengrass, green trees, open air swimming, T-shirts.
Bright Autimn: end of August to mid-October. Yellow trees, rain daily, frosts at night.
Dark Autumn: mid-October to mid-November. Naked trees, darkness, rain daily, sometimes with snow. The most depressive season.
Dark Winter: mid-November to mid-February. Snow, rain, ice, no sunlight.
Bright Winter: mid-February, March. Snow, ice, a lot of sunlight.
Spring: April to mid-June. Greengrass, green trees, rain.
Home heating season normally lasts from mid-September to mid-May in cities, for large concrete buildings. Owens in small homes in rural area are fired periodically from mid-August to mid-June.
