Do you have experience with staying in hotels of Russia? What do you think about quality and cost of them?
Of course, we don't talk about Mariott, Ritz Carlton Moscow, Balchug Kempinski and so on...

Russia hotels

Postby Yozhik » 04 Apr 2009, 08:24

I've stayed in good and bad. There are too many overpriced hotels in Russia. I always stay in cheap hotels because I'm poor =) Soviet style hotels are literally that, which means they haven't been renovated since the 70's. The quality is always poor and they are not even that cheap. The main thing that bugs me about all Russian hotels, and Russia in general in fact, is the non existence of customer service.

I recommend an alternative to the hotels - short-term apartments. I have stayed in the short-term apartment during my visit to Moscow in December and was quite impressed by the price and quality.
